I was born at Saltburn by the sea on the North East coast, close to the North Yorkshire Moors. I first started walking when I was 10, I walked the Cleveland way with my Dad and a school friend, a few years ago I rewalked it with Dad and we also did The Missing Link which links the end of the walk to the start of the walk. At the moment we are walking the Teesdale Way together with Ben.
I now live in Marske with my husband Stuart and 3 children, Vicki (15), Ben and James (both 14). Stuart an Ben both share my love of walking. We are attempting to complete all the 2000ft tops of England and Wales.
I have set my own web and database business, Anne's computing designs. In 2007 I completed a HND in computing IT gaining two academic awards, The British Computer Society award for services to the community (For this I designed a programme that tracks hills and mountians climbed by walkers) and the HND prize for the best performing student. and I am now studying for a BSc in computing at Teeside University.
