Another Lovely day although we kept on going through fog patches on the way to Levisham.
We set of and walked down the road towards Levisham Station, It is always further than you think. On the big sweeping bend of the road just before the station the Highland cattle where sat in a group, some with calves.
Over the railway and up the steep bank to Newton on Rawcliffe. Immediately reaching the road we turned of onto a track and walked towards Upper Farm, then over to the main road into Stape. We decided to do a circular walk, so we turned right onto the road and took the next footpath on the left and followed the edge of the woods, and finally into the woods. It was quite muddy in parts. We eventually made it down to the road that runs along the bottom of the valley. Then back to Levisham Station and up the bank on the other side using a footpath this time. It didn’t seem long before we reached Levisham. We were both hungry and went in to the Horseshoe for a bowl each of soup and a very good pint of Old Peculiar. I don’t know what it is about walking but beer tasted even better (if that’s possible) than normal.
